HubSpot and Custom Pricing

From Advanced Billing, you can choose to enable or disable Custom Pricing. Go to the Config > Integrations > HubSpot settings and check/uncheck the Custom Pricing box to enable/disable.

If you previously had Custom Pricing enabled in your account and then choose to disable the functionality, all currently input custom pricing will be maintained at the subscription preview level. You do have the option to delete any of the previously set custom pricing and revert to the base Product/Component pricing. However, because you've disabled the option, you will no longer be able to set a custom price.

Setting a Custom Price

The following examples show you how to set Custom Pricing for a Product and a Component line item. In the first example, you start by building a typical deal and subscription in HubSpot. Then, you will set a Custom Price for the Product. The second example shows you how to set a Custom Price with a Trial Period.

Custom pricing updates are also made at the Deal Line Item level in HubSpot, which allows you to use HubSpot quoting.

Example 1: Create a New Deal in HubSpot and Configure a Product Custom Price

1. In the right panel of the Contact record, under the Deals section, click Add.
   
   
2. Enter the details of the new deal and then click Create.
   Next, let’s add a couple of Line Items: a Product and a Component.
3. From the right panel, scroll down to the Line Items section and click Add.
   
   
4. To configure the Product line item, click Select from product library.
5. From the Add line item popup, select the Product and Component from the list.
   In this example, the Product is “Astonish months bill and term” and the Component selected is “Monthly bill.”
   
   
6. Click Add.
7. In the Line Item page, click Save.
   You will be prompted to update the deal amount.
   
8. Click Update deal amount.
9. From the Deal page, click Subscription Preview.
10. In the First Invoice Preview, next to Product, click Custom Pricing.
    

From the “Setup Custom Pricing” screen, you can edit the price and billing frequency, add a trial period, add a setup fee, or enable an expiration date.

11. From the Setup Custom Pricing screen, do the following:
    1. For Price, enter $1000.50 for every 1 month.
    2. Toggle Add setup fee to ON and enter a Price of $150 and click Charge setup fee before trial period.
    3. Toggle Enable expiration to ON and set it to expire after 11 months.
       Your setup should look like the following:
       
    4. Click Save.

From the Subscription Preview, notice the updated items:

Tip: To delete the Custom Pricing and revert to the original price, click the Trash icon next to the Price.

Best Practice: Before you click Create Subscription, double-check your Line Items configuration.

12. Close the Subscription Preview to return to the Deal page.
13. Refresh the browser session.
    From the right panel, under Line Items, you can see the Custom Pricing applied to the Product prior to subscription creation.
    
14. Click Edit to see the updated line item configuration.
    

Note, the Component “Monthly bill” term is also set to 11 months.

15. After you’ve reviewed the Deal and are ready to generate it, go back to the Deal page and click Subscription Preview.
16. Click Create Subscription.
17. From the right panel, scroll down to the Subscriptions section and click Sync Deal with Chargify.
18. Once the sync has finished, to check the Deal directly in Maxio Advanced Billing, click Subscription ID from the right panel.

Example 2: Configure Custom Pricing with a Trial Period

1. From the Deal page, click Subscription Preview.
2. For the Product, click Custom Pricing.
3. From the Setup Custom Pricing screen, do the following:
   1. For Price, enter $1100 for every 1 month.
   2. Toggle Add trial period to ON and and set the trial period Price to $50, lasting 1 month.
   3. Toggle Enable expiration to ON and set it to expire after 9 months.
      Your setup should look like this:
      
   4. Click Save.

The Subscription Preview is updated with your recent changes:

Because a Trial Period was added, you will edit the Component Custom Pricing next.

4. In the Future Invoices Preview, next to Component, click Custom Pricing.
   
5. From the Setup Custom Pricing for the Component screen, do the following:
   1. For Pricing Scheme, click Per Unit and enter a per unit price of $99.
   2. Set the Billing and Invoicing Interval to every 3 months.
      Your setup should look like this:
      
   3. Click Save.
      This returns you to the "Subscription Preview".

Best Practice: Before you click Create Subscription, double-check your Line Items configuration.

6. Close the Subscription Preview to return to the Deal page.
7. From the right panel, under Line Items, click Edit to see the updated line item configuration.
   
   Note the changes to the Unit Price and the Term.
8. Now that you’ve reviewed the Deal and are ready to generate it, go back to the Deal page and click Subscription Preview.
9. Click Create Subscription.
   
10. From the right panel, scroll down to the Subscriptions section and click Sync Deal with Chargify.
11. Once the sync has finished, to check the deal directly in Maxio Advanced Billing, click Subscription ID from the right panel.
    
    This opens the Subscription in Maxio Advanced Billing.
