Custom Pricing and Subscription Actions

You can define Custom Pricing for your Products and Components when creating a Subscription. You can even mix-and-match Price Points and Custom Prices, so you're not restricted to using Custom Prices on all the Products and Components on the Subscription.

Custom Pricing allows you to provide a price that will only be associated with the given Subscription and will not be saved to the Product Catalog.

  1. From the Subscriptions page, click Create New Subscription.
  2. From the Customer section, click Select an Existing Customer.
    This expands the Customer Details section.
  3. Configure the Customer Details as needed.
  4. Scroll down to the Plan Configuration section and Select Currency.
  5. Once the currency has been selected, click Select a Product.

  6. Once you select a Product to add to the Offer, click Change Price Point to set a Custom Price.

  7. From the Select a Product Price Point screen, select Custom Pricing.
    The Custom Price is only associated with this Subscription and will not be saved to the Product Catalog.
  8. Set the Base Price and the Interval, and if needed, indicate if the Tax is included in the price.
  9. Optional: If needed, you can also add a Trial Period, a Setup Fee, and/or an Expiration.
  10. Click Preview to save your custom price configuration and return you to the Plan Configuration page.
  11. Next, select Components to add to the Offer.
  12. Optional: If applicable, add Coupons to the Offer.
  13. Click Preview Cost to preview the Subscription with the custom-priced Products or Components.

    The Preview Cost option is only available before you click Create Subscription.

  14. If the Cost Preview looks good, click Create Subscription.

Change Product and Product Price

When viewing the Subscription, you can change the price of your Subscription's Product to a Custom Price or modify an existing Custom Price.

You can also set a Custom Price at the time you change the Product for the Subscription.

  1. To change the Product and set a Custom Price for the given Product, click Change Product.

    From the Change Product screen, note the listed effects of changing the product.

  2. Scroll down to find the Product to change to and click Change Price Point.

  3. Set the Custom Price and click Preview.
    Note the new Custom Price.

  4. From the Actions drop-down, click Change to product.

Update Component Price

Do the following to update the price of a Subscription Component to a Custom Price.

  1. Open the Subscription and select Components from the left subpanel.
  2. For the Component for which you want to set Custom Pricing, click the More icon (...) and select Update Price Point.

  3. From the Update Price Point screen, click Custom Pricing.

  4. Set the Pricing Scheme.
    You can specify up to 10 decimal places for Custom Pricing.
  5. Click Save Pricing and then Update.

Update Quantity

You can update the price of a Subscription's quantity-based Component to a Custom Price when updating the quantity.

  1. Open the Subscription and select Components from the left subpanel.
  2. For the Component for which you want to change the quantity, click the More icon (...) and select Update Quantity.

  3. From the Update Quantity screen, enter the new Quantity and necessary Proration options.
  4. Click Update.

Toggle On/Off

Update the price of a Subscription On/Off Component to a Custom Price when toggling the Component on.

  1. Open the Subscription and select Components from the left subpanel.
  2. For the On/Off Component for which you want to set a Custom Price when On, click the More icon (...) and select Toggle On/Off.

  3. Select Toggle On and click the Change pricing button.

  4. From the Pricing pop-up dialog, click Custom Pricing.
  5. Set the Pricing Scheme and click Save.
  6. Set the Proration Options by selecting what you want to do when the following occurs:
    • The Component price increases.
    • There is a charge.
    • The Component payment fails.
    • The Component price decreases.
  7. Add a Memo, describing the allocation.
  8. Click Update.

Purchase Prepaid Units

Update the price of a Subscription Prepaid Component to a Custom Price when purchasing prepaid units.

  1. Open the Subscription and select Components from the left subpanel.
  2. For the Prepaid Usage Component for which you want to set a Custom Price when On, click the More icon (...) and select Purchase Prepaid Units.

  3. From the Purchase Additional Prepaid Units screen, set the number of units and click the Change pricing button.
  4. From the Pricing pop-up dialog, click Custom Pricing.
  5. Set the Custom Pricing for Prepaid Allocated/Overage Schemes.

  6. Click Save.
  7. For Proration Options, select what you want to do when an immediate component payment fails.
  8. Add a Memo, describing the allocation.
  9. Click Update.
