Custom Pricing

Custom Pricing allows you to define a price for a Product or Component that is specific to a Subscription. These prices are defined within the context of a Subscription action (such as update pricing or update quantity) and do not appear in the Product Catalog.

Custom Pricing allows you to elegantly manage your sales-negotiated Subscriptions alongside your self-service sign-up Subscriptions without bloating your Product Catalog. In addition, Custom Pricing enables you to streamline your workflows with the ability to define prices on-the-fly.

Custom Pricing Usage

There are several ways you can use Custom Pricing:

  • Through the API;
  • Through the Salesforce integration;
  • Through a Subscription page;
  • Through a combination of the above.

The rest of this article covers Custom Pricing through the Subscription page. For Custom Pricing through the Salesforce integration, contact your Customer Success Manager.

Custom Pricing for Products

You can set Custom Prices for Products through the following actions:

  • Create Subscription
  • Change Product

A Custom Price for a Product has similar configurable attributes as a Product Price Point (name, price, interval, trial, setup fee, and expiration). One difference from a Product Price Point in your Product Catalog is that there is only one currency to configure - the currency of the Subscription.

Currently, we do not support the ability to perform an Upgrade/Downgrade Migration to a Custom Price, but you can still perform an Upgrade/Downgrade Migration to a Price Point.

Custom Pricing for Components

You can set Custom Prices for Components through the following actions:

  • Create Subscription
  • Update Price
  • Component Allocation (Update Quantity, On/Off Toggle, and Purchase Prepaid Units)

A Custom Price for a Component has similar configurable attributes as a Component Price Point (pricing scheme, unit price, price bracket start/end, and tax inclusive). Again, the only difference from a Component Price Point in your Product Catalog is that the Subscription currency is the only currency to configure.
